Atlanta Braves First Half and Beyond

As we have reached the half-way of the MLB Season the Braves sit at 45-38 a half-game ahead of the Washington Nationals. Which is a pretty lucky position considering the fact that coming out of spring training we lost 3/5 of our pitching rotation to injury and with a patchwork rotation of guys that we basically took off the street and gave them another chance at their career to be one of the best rotations in the big leagues is an amazing accomplishment, Posting the most quality starts with 58 and the 2nd best ERA at 3.28.

Offensively however we have been wildly inconsistent not being able to figure out the right 1-2 punch at the top of our batting order and striking out way too much those being the main reasons we rank in the bottom third in runs scored at just 3.5 runs per game those are the things that I am seeing with the braves so far.

The keys to a successful 2nd half are for the pitching to just keep doing what it has done and avoid injury bug. Offensively to do the little things like get a bunt down and for the hitters to play to their strengths and most important of all make more contact crazy things happen when you put it in play. Lastly take advantage of their schedule from now until July 28 we play teams with losing records. Those I believe the keys for us to make a deep run in October!!!
